Meknes
Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, is known for its impressive architecture and historical sites. The city was once the capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail, who built grand structures like the Bab Mansour, one of Morocco’s most beautiful gates. The Royal Stables and Heri es-Souani are vast historical complexes that once housed thousands of horses. Meknes is also a gateway to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, featuring well-preserved mosaics and columns from Morocco’s Roman past.
